The Sunday Times Top 350 Primary Schools

Dear Parents, Carers and Quiltonians,

I am delighted to tell you that Quilters Junior School has made it into The Sunday Times Top 350 Primary Schools List (position 255) for state schools in England and Scotland.  This is based upon an average of three consecutive years of pupil performance data, from 2013 to 2015.

It is a wonderful achievement for the school and is a testament to the hard work, dedication and skill of my staff, the ambition and drive of my pupils and the immense support of our parents.  It is a real team effort.  I strongly believe Quilters Junior School is a family, one that is more united and happier than any other school.  Happy children learn.

When you consider that there are 16,839 state sponsored primary schools in England and Scotland this puts the achievement into context.  Our pupils' attainment is in the top 2% nationally for these 3 years; close to the top 1.5%.

As our pupil performance data was even better in 2016 than it was in 2013 I would expect us to make the list next year too when it is based on 2014 to 2016!  We should be higher placed.  I also have high hopes for the current Year 6s.  They are well set to do equally well!

I am thrilled by our consistency.  It means that year on year we send all of our pupils off to their new secondary schools ready to fly.

Check out the Billericay Gazette this week (the week beginning 28th November) for more details.

Best wishes,

Mr M Wade
